PREVENT AND RELIEF MOTORCYCLING BACK INJURY

MOTORCYCLING

Various factors increase motorcyclists' risks of incurring back pains. Absorbing vibrations in a bending posture facilitates the appearance of muscular contractions, overloading and intervertebral disc injuries. Some events such as trial biking or motocross increase these vibrations, impacts and twists, muscular effort and posture maintenance.

MOTORCYCLING TIPS:

COMPENSATION EXERCISES

An exercise programme is recommended to develop the spinal column muscles, compensating for possible imbalance. These exercises must be personalised and recommended by a doctor.

APPROPRIATE EQUIPMENT

A motorbike with an appropriate suspension system which minimises vibrations is recommended.

WARMING UP

Flexibility and stretching exercises must be done before riding.

USE A GIRDLE

The use of a girdle is recommended, especially for long routes. This reduces vibrations and the muscle effort required to maintain posture. As well as providing support to the whole trunk and shoulders, W-WEAR corrects the posture and keeps the shoulders and each item in their correct position whereby each group functions in an optimum manner and the overloads and stresses the back and shoulders must absorb are reduced. The inbuilt girdle reinforces the abdominal or lumbar muscles and keeps the lumber muscles at an adequate temperature.
